Tool-a-thon Toolkit: How to host a prototyping meetup

Help someone with a creative idea take the next step. Our new Tool-a-thon Toolkit makes it easy for anyone to host a prototyping meetup. A tool-a-thon — at a makerspace, fabrication lab, library, school, or science center — can inspire local makers and inventors to explore high-impact, low-cost tools for science. Host a tool-a-thon to help individuals and teams develop tool prototypes for the Tool Foundry accelerator before the May 30 application deadline.

Our toolkit provides what you need to start planning your tool-a-thon, including suggestions for planning the meetup, finding a partner or co-host, and getting the word out. Check out the Tool-a-thon Toolkit, and email hello@toolfoundry.org if you have questions. Let us know about your tool-a-thon — we’d love to help you promote your event.

Pro tip: Consider scheduling your tool-a-thon in conjunction with an upcoming science event. See our calendar of events for the science-curious.
